My career, similar to my life overall, seems to have been performed in episodes. My experience in sales was the foundation for everything that seemed to come after, giving me the opportunity to manage sales teams, develop territories and later lead several thousands during the great telephone wars of the mid-nineties.

It was during this time that I had the good fortune to be assigned to work with two teams; teams so great that I was able to do more observing than actual deployment. These teams provided the understanding and insight that you will experience throughout the career sites we have constructed. My greatest accomplishment has come from not the attainment of financial numbers, although that was required, or the greater responsibilities as I progressed, instead it came from the growth and success of the team I worked within.

There is a saying that best sums up the commitment I believe a leader should make: "I will place your success ahead of my own, but I will always put the well being of the team ahead of any one individual."

Susan Magrino received her Masters in Business Administration and her undergraduate degree from California State Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, California where she majored in Ornamental Horticulture. After college, Susan began a long career as a Florist for Hollywood productions including the Academy Awards, the Grammy's and NBC studios.

There are a million stories in the workplace, and Susan is just one of them.
